WALK ON THE PLAID SIDE
Monse, Strathberry and Dannijo
The fall is one my absolute favorite times of the year, especially with the ups and downs of New York seasons. I haven’t been able to write + style much this fall, let alone post, since i’ve been a little (read: A LOT) preoccupied with work. Between actual work and freelance projects on the side, the creative passion projects always seem to be the first ones to slip. The heat of summer has faded, and the city seems to sparkle just a little bit wit the wind and chill air. Socially, everything picks up too. Everyone has come back from the Lazy days of Summer, with renewed energy to work + play. There’s always an event to go to, a friend to get dinner with, a colleague or date to have drinks with.
But now I’m back! and the Fall is (or was, when I shot this look) in full swing. There’s something so calming about switching out those white linens with plaid jackets and thick sweater. I tend to wear A LOT of plaid in the fall and winter. (Wait for December, when I exclusively wear Holiday Stewart Tartans on a daily basis for the 25 days we are allowed to!) And this Monse jacket is no exception. It’s Off-the-Shoulder and gives off a touch on insouciance. Plus, it’s pretty fun to wear. Since plaid is already Scottish, I took a perverse pleasure in matching the red stripe to this Red Strathberry Stylist Clutch. Obviously, Strathberry has been getting a fair amount of press recently, but I actually first came across the brand in February 2017 with a Stylist I was working with at the time. The bag works well as clutch or as a crossbody, and fits way more than just the essentials. And to finish off the look, gold dangly chandelier earrings that I’ve had forever from Dannijo add a bit of sparkle.
